More comfortable than ever before, traditional metal braces are the most common of the different types of braces. Metal braces are made of high-grade stainless steel and straighten your teeth using metal brackets and wires which slowly move your teeth into place. Metal braces provide you with the option for adding colored elastics for a unique, colorful smile.
Our self-ligating braces have a built in door to help the archwire guide teeth into place. Self-ligating braces are made from the same materials as traditional braces; however, self-ligating braces do not require the use of elastics to hold the wire in the bracket. Without elastics, the wire slides more freely and your teeth will move more comfortably during treatment.
Ceramic braces are made of clear materials and are less visible than metal braces. Generally, ceramic braces require a little more TLC because they are more fragile than metal braces. Patients who choose ceramic braces must maintain excellent oral hygiene. Because ceramic braces require a bit more care, they are popular with adults and older teenagers.
Invisalign & Clear Correct
Invisalign and ClearCorrect aligners are comfortable, low profile, custom-made clear plastic trays that most people don’t even know you are wearing. As your teeth change and your smile improves, you will change aligners regularly, wearing them for 20-22 hours a day. Dr. Wiesemann's advanced certification allows him to treat with either type of aligner.
